Aztec, Arizuma, Silver Bearing

Indian, O’odna, Small Spring

Basque Haritz-ona, good oak.

There were the humans, the Hopi, Tohono, Pima and other tribes and there was the land, trees, sky and the sun. Then the Jesuits came, then the army, then the West.

Here’s my sketch of Arizona in Gouache on A2 cartridge paper. If I wasn’t so lazy I’d paint it on to canvas, though I kinda like it on paper.

This is the first part of two part project that I left to ponder. That is until just now, while I’ve been up-dating the page and looking at the image and reading the words again.

I’ve got an image in my cerebral sketchbook that I’ll ponder over for a bit longer.
